Wellness Empowered believes in keeping your information strictly confidential. We collect the minimum amount of information needed to provide and conduct services such as your name, phone number and email for the purposes of correspondence with you and no other purposes. We value privacy and confidentiality as such your personal and contact information will not be distributed to third parties without your consent unless in matters of risk where the therapist is legally obligated to divulge such information for safety reasons as discussed on the initial appointment.

Wellness Empowered is hosted on the godaddy.com platform that allows us to sell our services to you, hence your data maybe stored through their storage, databases and applications on secure servers behind a fire hall.

All direct payment gateways offered by godaddy.com and used by Wellness Empowered adhere and abide by the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joined agreement of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and etc. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our site and its service providers.

Security of Personal Information

As per the Personal Health Information Protection Act, Shayla S. Dube, Registered Social Worker has a legal duty and obligation to ensure your health records are protected against theft, loss and unauthorized use of disclosure. As such, proper digital safeguard measures have been implemented to reasonably prevent unauthorized access to your information/ data.

Risk of Unencrypted Communication

There are some risks associated with e-counselling, email use and other digital methods such as skype and zoom, which include but not limited to:

Inadvertently sent to the wrong recipient.
Vulnerability to theft if accessed on a portable devise such as smartphone, tablet and laptop.
Vulnerability to potential interception by unauthorized parties.

Unsubscribing

You have the right to opt out of email and/or other digital appointments and subscriptions, which will limit your appointments to phone calls.
